Kudos for the Gallery!
In this, the beginning of our sixth year, Art on the Avenue continues to pursue excellence in presenting fine art to the community and we are becoming recognized as being well on our way. A discriminating collector recently commented to us that he was "impressed by the diversity and quality of our art". This past week, we were presented an award by the Macon Telegraph naming Art on the Avenue as Best Gallery in Central Georgia. This award came about through a community survey of galleries in Macon and the surrounding cities of Perry, Warner Robins, Forsyth, Gray and others. We are both honored and encouraged by this recognition.
We offer art not only from our excellent local artists but regional and national talent as well. Our art now comes from NY to South Georgia and points in between. Please come enjoy the art of: Joe Adams, Alice Asbell, Mark Ballard, Pat Burns, Allan Carey, Dr. Brenda Cooper, Cindy Davis, Ronnie Offen, KBBailey, Faith Germishuizen, Teresa Griffith, Cameron Hampton,PSA, Joanne Hopper, Leslie Hoops-Wallace, Peter Muzyka, (the late) Gena Oldham, Tana Selby, Gloria Smith, Frank Tarpley, Betty Treadwell and Dale Watts, along with the art of owners Debbie Anderson, Ginger Concepcion and MJ Venrick.
The Gallery also boasts a small but growing art supply business and is now the only retailer in the state which carries Uart Pastel Paper, a unique paper that is the choice by many professional pastel, charcoal, colored pencil and watercolor artists. This special paper also accepts watercolor and oil washes and is reasonably priced.
Art on the Avenue still offers instruction for children and adults at all levels. Geared toward individual growth, our classes are small in size. We have a strong emphasis on drawing skills and encourage experimentation in multiple mediums.
The Frame Shop, sharing space with the gallery is proving to be an added plus by offering convenience to clients who purchase a piece of art and choose to have it framed in the same location.
While we are enjoying growth and success, we still offer the same warm and welcoming ambiance for which we've become known. Please stop by and see us on your next visit to Historic Ingleside Village.
